Christmas Ornament Project for Kids
Got vinyl scraps lying around? Want a simple project to keep the kids busy during the holiday break?
A Christmas tree ornament is a perfect cheap and easy project for the kids!
Materials:
Blank ornaments (available at every craft supply store this time of the year—they usually come several to a box)
When choosing an ornament style, go for something flatter—this makes it easier to lay the material on the ornament.
Transfer tape (to help lay the vinyl on the ornament)
Craft vinyl in various colors
I chose to do a Christmas tree with hole-punch ornaments in various colors. I think picking a design that is not too intricate works best for kids to handle. For the Christmas tree, I used my hole punch to punch a lot of different color vinyl to use as little ornaments.
Once you have plotted and weeded a bunch of different designs (or the same design for simplicity’s sake), set up an area for the kids to work on their projects. Let the kids go crazy with decorating their ornament (or ornaments) however they want!
This project doesn’t take a lot of vinyl so you can use any scraps you have left. It also gives the kids a chance to let their creativity take over.
